Welcome to The Little Loomhouse, a fiber arts education organization supported by the Lou Tate Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit.  Our mission is to continue the legacy of founder Lou Tate, master weaver, by ensuring the preservation of The Little Loomhouse landmark cabins and by educating students of all ages about the history of weaving and textile arts through diverse programs, residencies, and community partnerships.

COVID-19 Response

Following the recommendation of the Governor’s Office and the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Safety, we are currently not open to the public. We are providing virtual content and education programs through our social media platforms with the following schedule.

Tuesdays will be general educational videos about weaving and the Little Loomhouse. Wednesdays will feature a live video of a storybook reading for children focused on the history of fiber arts. Thursdays will be Needlefelt instruction videos and Fridays will be intermediate weaving instruction. Please follow us on Facebook or on Instagram @thelittleloomhouseofficial.

The Little Loomhouse depends on classes, field trips, general admission, and other programs for operating revenue. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, these revenue sources have been suspended. Donations are important now more than ever. Your donation online today allows us to continue providing Fiber Arts education through digital media, continue developing curriculum for our public education programs and maintenance of the cabins. We realize this is a difficult time for everyone, however, your support will help sustain the educational resources provided by the Little Loomhouse since 1939. To donate go to our About Page  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
