Restoration and Preservation at The Little Loomhouse

The Little Loomhouse has promoted weaving and the textiles since 1939, when it was founded by Master Weaver Lou Tate. The property in South Central Louisville is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since Tate’s death in 1979 it has been operated by The Lou Tate Foundation, an all volunteer board dedicated to preserving the legacy of Tate and weaving in Kentucky.

This fall and winter the Little Loomhouse will get a new retaining wall and a rebuilt floor in of the property’s three historic cabins. But there is much more that needs to be done. The Lou Tate Foundation would like to invite the public to help keep the Little Loomhouse around for another 75 years by donating to its Restoration/Preservation Fund. If you would like to help be a part of history, please consider donating.

Thank you, The Lou Tate Foundation
