Join us for a reception on Sunday, November 8 from 2-4 PM EST, celebrating an exhibit titled The Kentucky Coverlet Connection: Lou Tate, the Little Loomhouse, and Berea. Come see our world-class collection of woven Kentucky coverlets, weaving draft patterns, and historical artifacts that tell the story of this folk art tradition and Lou Tate’s legacy as a weaver and historian, including her time as a student at Berea College. Hear the sounds of Kentucky composer Chris Kincaid’s “Overshot”, six movements for strings and electronics, influenced by typical Kentucky folk weaving patterns.

The reception is free and open to the public, taking place on Sunday, November 8 from 2-4 PM EST.

The exhibit runs from November 1 – December 17, 2015 in the Doris Ulmann Galleries in the Rogers Art Building on the Berea College campus.Loomhouse-BC no notch_Page_1
