the Little Loomhouse
This four-week course meets every Saturday from October 8-29 from 10am-3pm, with a one-hour lunch break. You will learn the fundamentals of weaving (color theory, project planning, warping, weaving, etc.) The course syllabus includes: intro to the loom; planning & winding the warp chain; warping the loom; preparing to weave; and weaving. Students can expect to complete a scarf in this class. This is a great class for anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of weaving because it gives you all of the information needed to start planning and weaving projects on your own!
Instructor Sally Moss studied weaving for 11 years with Master Weaver Lou Tate at the Little Loomhouse; and owned a specialty dress shop in Downtown Louisville called “Ah! Sunflower: Things of Cloth. She has taught Weaving, Spinning, and vegetable dying to adults and children since 1969. Her husband, Orville, is a sculpture and creative woodworker. They have two grown children.
